Pichi Pichi Railway will run a special train on Sunday 22 October 2017, to co-incide with and mark the centenary of opening of the Trans Australia Railway from Port Augusta to Kalgoorlie. At 9.32pm on Monday, October 22, 1917, the first passenger train set off from Port Augusta for Kalgoorlie.

Once the line was open, it was possible to travel by rail from Sydney to Perth, via Quorn.  Our special train is intended to be steam-hauled (motive power to be announced) but may have to be diesel-hauled subject to fire risk conditions. The train will depart Quorn at 08:30, travel to Port Augusta and return at approximately 5:00 PM.  Please Book Online or contact the Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre on 1800 PRRAIL (1800 777 245)
