Narrow Gauge Brill Trailer Acquisition Appeal

Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society has been advised that SteamRanger Heritage Railway wishes to dispose of a surplus ex-narrow gauge Brill Railcar Trailer, which is currently located at Goolwa.

A proposal for transporting it to Quorn for future restoration has been presented, noting that it will cost in excess of $10,000 for it to be transported due to its size.

This type of vehicle was commonly used on the South Australian Railways' Northern Division and elsewhere in the state. This will be the only time that a suitable ex-narrow gauge vehicle comes available, and it would complement the other Brill railcar vehicles in the collection.

PRRPS is seeking donations to acquire and fund transport of this vehicle to Quorn, and later to allow its restoration to a passenger-carrying configuration and join Model 75 Brill railcar 106 and trailer 305 in a three-vehicle Brill railcar set.
