VIP travel, 1930s style

Just choose a date from our timetable and we'll reserve a VIP carriage for you and your guests. Enjoy the privacy of your own carriage at an affordable price.

The South Australian Railways Commissioner's carriage "Flinders" features full-length windows for a perfect view of the scenery while you relax in the comfort of the Commissioner's lounge.

Perhaps you'd prefer to travel in royal fashion aboard Commonwealth Railways Special Car No. 3, NSS34. It was used by HRH the Duke of Gloucester during his 1934 Australian visit. Commonwealth Railways carriage NRC36 (now NIA36) is also in our collection - you could re-enact General Douglas MacArthur's famous speech "I came out of Bataan, and I shall return", standing on the same carriage platform from which those famous words were spoken in 1942.

Your train, your way

"Nardean and I would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved in making Nardean’s birthday celebration memorable and enjoyable.  From the canapes to the photo stop at the Lattice Bridge to the delightful birthday wishes from the Coffee Pot and Fire Patrol crew every minute of our experience was enjoyable and fun.

While the members of the PRR Society were professional and knowledgeable their friendly approachable and fun attitude to us and our guests made the day much more than a train ride on the beautiful Coffee Pot.  Every aspect of the day exceeded our expectations and we would like you to pass our sincere and wholehearted appreciation and thanks to everyone involved in the day.  While everyone was amazing special mention must go to Kath, Peter and Vanessa, with our family and friends repeatedly commenting on Kath and Peter’s friendly and generous nature and the quality and deliciousness of Vanessa’s canapes.   Please extend our sincere appreciation to everyone involved."
