Commonwealth Diesel Locomotives NSU52 and NT76 are the large diesel power of the Society. NSU class diesel locomotives were introduced in the early 1950s to replace NM class steam locos on the Alice Springs line. The NT class locos were intoduced in the mid 1960s.
