The Ghan celebrated the 80th anniversary of its arrival in Alice Springs, with a train departing Keswick for Darwin on August 2nd 2009. Arriving in Port Augusta late in the afternoon is Pichi Richi Railway's original narrow gauge Ghan powered by NM25 running parallel with Great Southern Rail's standard gauge Ghan hauled by NR74 & AN3.
