Ever considered volunteering in an active, enthusiastic, and worthwhile organization?

#teamPRR offers opportunities in our heritage tourist focussed operation. We have roles in train operations, customer service, tour guiding, railway safe working, or driving a railcar or steam or diesel locomotive.

You can learn new skills or help preserve old ones including timber carriage restoration, upholstery, fine woodwork, hospitality, marketing and metal trades. We welcome men and women for all volunteering roles, for whatever time you can give.

Good with people?

There are jobs that don't involve getting dirty, such as car captains (carriage attendants), conductors, ticket and souvenir sales and catering. Perhaps you are retired and have some spare time. If you have skills and can share your knowledge in mentoring and training young people, you could make a valuable contribution. We often arrange to share transport to Quorn as we have members who travel locally, from Adelaide and interstate.

Family-friendly

Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society encourages families to participate in a wide range of activities, and many young people make a valuable and enjoyable contribution to the Society and gain valuable life skills and practical experience.

A great way to spend weekends, holidays, or any other spare time

#teamPRR is a friendly group of people with common interests and diverse backgrounds. After the day's work is completed, there is a chance to socialize over the evening meal. Accommodation in old railway carriages can be provided at Quorn to complete the experience! Volunteers also carry out a wide variety of tasks behind the scenes—so you can make an important contribution even if you can’t travel to Quorn or Port Augusta regularly. We can use virtually any skills you may have, and you certainly don’t need to have particular skills already to become involved.
