Pichi Richi Railway is pleased to again be re-enacting a narrow gauge troop train for Great Southern Rail's 2014 ANZAC Tribute Journey.

Seats on this special train are available to the public only for a one way journey from Quorn to Port Augusta departing at 2:30pm.

An exclusive, fully-catered Pichi Richi Railway experience featuring footplate rides, steam and diesel power, mixed and freight consists, and early morning and night photography. The event is limited to 60 VIP tickets; be quick to secure your place.

Steam up with a double-header train and watch the Flinders Ranges come to life!

On Saturday 8 June two heritage steam engines will meet at Woolshed Flat in the heart of the Pichi Richi Pass, then join together in a 'double-header' to make the historic journey to Quorn—a spectacle that happens just twice each year.

On Saturday 27 April, Pichi Richi Railway will be commemorating Australia's wartime efforts with a special steam journey from Quorn to Port Augusta.  A special Afghan Express will include historic military vehicles.

The Afghan Express will depart Port Augusta at 10.30am, with the military vehicles to be added to the train for the Quorn to Port Augusta leg of its journey departing at 2.30pm.

The Austral Luncheon Car departs on the last Sunday of each month on regular Pichi Richi Express services. This is a grand train for an epic adventure, fill with breathtaking sights and a rolling feast! Limited to only 14 luncheon guests you’ll enjoy exclusive access to the first class compartments and spacious dining saloon.

Pichi Richi Railway has two Outback Dinner trains in December, powered by an historic Old Ghan diesel locomotive hauling genuine timber bodied carriages. The train departs from Port Augusta Railway Station at 5pm for an evening run into the Pichi Richi Pass.

Music, games and teddy bear’s galore! All children (young and the young at heart) are invited to bring along their favourite bear friend for a fun filled day. Board in Quorn for a 2.30pm departure and enjoy the teddy bear themed carriages for the merry journey to Woolshed Flat where there will be games, a teddy bear’s parade and music to enjoy.
