The Ministry for Magic at the Pichi Richi Railway headquarters calls all Wizards and Witches. Dress up and join in the fun on the magical Wizards Explorer.

The scheduled luncheon specials have already booked out for July and September, so Pichi Richi have scheduled two further special trips.

Wizards Explorer – 2005
Calling all Wizards and Witches!
Pichi Richi Railway invite budding wizards and witches to dress up and join in the fun on the Wizards Explorer train, departing from the magic platform (at Quorn Railway Station, 3pm). Enjoy decorated carriages, volunteers in costume, and quizzes with prizes for young wizards and witches. Adults $25, Child $15.
Steam Up Quorn – 22–24 April 2005
Visit Pichi Richi Railway’s Quorn Loco Workshops on Saturday April 23 and Sunday April 24 between 10am and 5pm for two days of fascinating displays, demonstrations, entertainment, food and much more.
This is a special chance for a behind-the-scenes look at the Pichi Richi Railway Preservation Society, where visitors can marvel at Pichi Richi Railway’s enormous locomotives and original wooden carriages. Watch demonstrations of the restoration process of these massive engines and delicate carriages. See the demanding work involved in repairing track. Experience the coal and the dust!
Celebrate the 2004 festive season on Pichi Richi Railway
Partygoers needn’t worry about driving this festive season by taking their celebrations aboard the Pichi Richi Railway. A variety of options are offered this year.
NSU52—50 Years of Service

Pichi Richi Railway's heritage diesel locomotive NSU52—the first to haul the narrow-gauge Ghan—is celebrating 50 years of service in May. It will be hauling a special train along with steam locomotive NM25 to commemorate this occasion.

- Sunday 18 April 2004, departing Port Augusta Railway Station at 4:00pm
- Sunday 4 July, departing Quorn Railway Station at 4pm.
- Sunday 26 September, departing Quorn Railway Station at 4pm.
- Sunday 3 October, departing Port Augusta Railway Station at 4pm.

First Trains to Darwin – 15 & 31 January, and 1 February 2004

A once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of our national history
15 January: Celebrate the first freight train to Darwin
Join Pichi Richi Railway and ride our double-headed special alongside the first freight train to Darwin.
- A mixed goods and passenger train, hauled by the first Ghan diesel locomotive, will recreate a typical train to the ‘Red Centre’ of the 1950s, departing from Quorn and returning in the evening.
- Departing from Port Augusta, bound for Stirling North, a train headed by recently restored steam locomotive NM25.
